The Morphology Meeting is an annual event organized by alternating hosts together with the Morphology Section of the German Zoological SocietyExternal link. One of its goals is supporting early-career scientists by offering a welcoming and friendly environment for presenting ongoing projects, fostering scientific discussions, and building connections.

The 7th Morphology Meeting will take place in Jena, at the Friedrich Schiller University, Institute for Zoology and Evolutionary Research (Erbertstrasse 1, 07743) between the 25th and the 28th of February 2026. Registrations will be open starting the 31th of August 2025. Registration deadline is the 30th of November 2025. More information about the schedule will be available after registration.

We are looking forward for a rich program filled with short talks (15 minutes, including discussion) and posters (DIN A0 in portrait format - 84×119 cm). If you are interested in co-chairing a session, let us know in your registration form!

Apart from the student awards for outstanding talks and posters, PhD students and early Postdocs are encouraged to register for the Keynote Contest. The winner has the opportunity to present a 30-minute Keynote talk instead of the 15-minute slot. When registering for the Meeting, simply mention the intention to participate in the contest. The abstracts of the participants will be evaluated by a committee in order to select the one with the greatest potential to inspire.
